Do you own your own hardware?

Yes, we own all of our hardware and colocate it ourselves in top tier datacenters. In this industry, it’s very important to own your equipment. Servers, storage systems, network hardware — all of it. It’s the only way you can honestly guarantee any level of reliability. Otherwise you are at the mercy of 3rd party resellers or providers.

What datacentre do you use?

With all of the buzz about "the cloud", it’s easy to forget the cloud is built with tons of copper, steel, cement — and not fuzzy cotton balls floating in the sky.

We are co-located in the Colt Datacentre in London (a stone's throw away from the Tobacco docks).

Cold employs all the required safety and security measures required for Tier 3 and is ISO 20153 certified.

What server models does UKVPS use?

HP Enterprise BL460 Gen9 servers are our preferred model line. We never use retrofit desktop computers, or budget servers such as SuperMicro.
